MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641110699 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Chennai on September 15, 2026, for Multi-Port High-Gain Dc-Dc Converter For Converting Low-Voltage Dc Power To High-Voltage Dc Power.

Inventors include V S Dharani; Niranjna Sp; Umayal. R; and M. Prabhakar.

The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a multi port high gain DC-DC converter (100). The converter (100) includes a first Classical Boost Converter (CBC) stage, a second CBC stage (116), a coupled inductor quadratic boost converter (CI QBC) stage (118), and a diode capacitor multiplier (DCM) stage (120) to achieve enhanced voltage gain. The first CBC stage (112) processes energy from a first input source Vin1 (102-2), and the second CBC stage (116) processes energy from a second input source Vin2 (102-4). The combined energy is stored in capacitor C1 and further boosted by the CI-QBC stage (118) using coupled inductor LPy, switch S3, and diode D3, charging output capacitor C01. The secondary winding LSy, together with capacitor C3, diode D4, and diode D5, forms the DCM stage (120) to charge output capacitor C02. The cascaded capacitors C01 and C02 deliver a regulated high voltage DC output.
