MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541021686 A) filed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited on March 11, 2025, for Multi-Phase Configurable Resistive Loading System.

Inventors include Shivakumar Adigopula; and J. Ramchandra Naik.

The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.

Abstract: Multi-phase configurable resistive loading system (100) is a dummy LRU (Line Replacement Unit) load for testing power distribution unit of aircraft or avionics LRU’s. Avionics LRU’s generally operate on 28V DC or 115V rms 400Hz single phase or 115V rms 400Hz 3 phase supply, few complex LRU’s require multiple supplies. This invention presents single system which caters various load configurations such as 3 phase 3 wire, 3 phase 4 wire, 3 phase delta, single phase AC, DC and their combinations by interconnecting AC loading units (102, 103, 104, 105) using short links/wire (500) along with DC loading unit (106) without any additional loading devices. It consists of selectable resistive branches in each of AC/DC loading units (102, 103, 104, 105, 106) for adjusting load current. A single system as versatile with load current tuning features is achieved by the resistor loading circuit.
