MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541031141 A) filed by Bharat Dynamics Limited on March 29, 2025, for Multi-Mode Target Tracking System And Method Of Operation Thereof.

Inventors include Angadi, Gautham; Sriharsha, Sunkara; Kumar, Gali Manoj Satya; Kumar, Saurav; and Pal, Manasi.

The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.

Abstract: A multi-mode target tracking system (120) and method (500) are disclosed. System (120) includes imaging sensors to acquire image data of a scene comprising a target (110). System (120) includes processing unit (202) comprising a tracking module (212) configured to compute confidence measurement parameters based on outputs of a primary tracking module (212a), a secondary tracking module (212b), and a segmentation tracking module (212c). Primary tracking module and Secondary tracking module concurently estimates target positon and segmentation-based tracking module track target using an active contour. A target search and reacquisition module (212d) is configured to detect target using multi-scale template correlation and salient features across successive frames of acquired image data. System (120) includes a decision module (214) configured to select between primary tracking module, secondary tracking module, segmentation tracking module and target search and reacquisition module to estimate a final target position based on confidence measurement parameters.
