Abstract: ABSTRACT MULTI-MODAL ULTRASOUND-INTEGRATED BREAST CANCER DETECTION SYSTEM A multi-modal breast cancer detection system and corresponding method are disclosed. A mammographic image processing module (102) receives at least one mammographic image from a mammography imaging source (101), identifies a plurality of regions of interest, and extracts one or more mammographic feature representations therefrom. An ultrasound image processing module (104) receives at least one ultrasound image from an ultrasound imaging source (103) and generates one or more ultrasound feature representations. A cross- attention module (106) applies a cross-attention mechanism to the mammographic feature representations, using the ultrasound feature representations as query representations, to generate one or more attention-refined mammographic feature representations. A feature fusion module (108) generates a fused feature representation from the attention-refined mammographic feature representations and the ultrasound feature representations, and a classification module (110) processes the fused feature representation through a classifier to generate a diagnostic classification indicative of a presence or an absence of breast malignancy.
