MUMBAI, India, Oct. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611104114 A) filed by Chandigarh University on August 29, 2026, for Multi-Modal Ai-Based Diagnostic Support System For Integrated Clinical Decision-Making.

Inventors include Jagdeep Kaur; Harsh Kumar; and Kavya Jain.

The application for the patent was published on October 09, 2026, under issue no. 41/2026.

Abstract: The present invention provides a multi-modal artificial intelligence-based diagnostic support system for integrated clinical decision-making. The system receives radiological imaging data, laboratory test data and patient clinical history, and preprocesses and normalizes the received data. Dedicated imaging, laboratory and clinical history analysis engines generate modality-specific features, findings and confidence information. A multi-modal fusion engine performs cross-modal alignment and reasoning to generate a fused patient representation, a ranked differential diagnosis, an urgency or acuity score and recommended clinical actions. An explainability module associates the diagnostic output with supporting image regions, laboratory parameters and clinical information. The system further provides clinician workflow integration, governed feedback-based learning, cloud and edge deployment, and monitoring, safety and governance mechanisms, thereby providing interpretable and controlled AI-assisted diagnostic support.
