Abstract: The present application provides a multi-link device (MLD) communication method. The method can support IEEE protocols, such as an 802.11be/Wi-Fi 7/Wi-Fi 8 protocol, an IEEE 802.11 Integrated mmWave protocol, an IEEE 802.11bf/sensing protocol, or an IEEE 802.15/UWB protocol; and the method can also support a NearLink protocol. The method comprises: generating a request frame, the request frame being used for requesting to roam to a target AP MLD, the request frame comprising first indication information, and the first indication information being used for determining the target AP MLD; and sending the request frame to a first AP MLD. In embodiments of the present application, a non-AP MLD sends a request frame to a first AP MLD, so as to roam the non-AP MLD to a target AP MLD.
