MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611088554 A) filed by K. R. Mangalam University on July 21, 2026, for Multi-Layer Chef Cap Intercepting Stain Precursors In An Intermediate Adsorption Layer.

Abstract: A cap (100) has a laminate of, from the scalp outward, an inner layer (10), being capillary-active, of bamboo viscose and copper-infused polyester with antimicrobial function embedded in the fibre, an intermediate layer (20) of activated carbon particles (22) of at least 800 m2/g upon a non-woven carrier (24), and an outer layer (30) bearing a fluorine-free silica hydrophobic coating (34) which passes vapour but arrests liquid. Perspiration is carried outward from the scalp and its dissolved stain- forming constituents are adsorbed on the carbon before reaching the outer layer, so the visible surface never receives the material that would stain it. Discrete weld nodes (40) on a grid leave inter-layer air channels (42), preserving breathability.
