Abstract: Abstract Multi-hazard welding exposure assessment and coordinated protective-state control system A multi-hazard welding exposure assessment and coordinated protective-state control system is disclosed. The system comprises a welding helmet, processing unit, light sensor, gas sensor, temperature sensor, proximity sensor, controllable protective lens, warning device and communication interface. The processing unit detects a welding condition from light intensity and evaluates environmental exposure using a combination of gas, temperature and proximity measurements. Temporal persistence of sensed conditions is evaluated to distinguish hazardous exposure from transient variations. Based on the evaluated conditions, the system determines a protective state and coordinately controls the protective lens, local warning and remote safety indication. A recovery state maintains protection until predetermined recovery criteria are satisfied, thereby reducing repeated state transitions. When a sensor measurement becomes invalid or unavailable during an established welding condition, the lens is maintained in a fail-safe protective condition.
