Abstract: ABSTRACT MULTI-FACTOR RISK-AWARE FAULT-TOLERANT VIRTUAL MACHINE MIGRATION SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DYNAMIC CLOUD ENVIRONMENTS A multi-factor risk-aware fault-tolerant virtual machine migration system (100) and method for dynamic cloud computing environments is disclosed. The system (100) comprises a monitoring module (110) that continuously measures CPU utilization and VM density for each physical host, a fault risk assessment engine (120) that computes a probabilistic fault risk score as a weighted linear combination of CPU utilization, VM density, and a stochastic disturbance factor, a hybrid decision engine (130) implementing a dual-threshold migration condition requiring both CPU overload and elevated fault risk before triggering migration, a migration execution module (140) with fault-risk-filtered target host selection, and a multi-component cost computation module (150) optimizing a unified cost function comprising execution, memory, migration, SLA penalty, and energy costs. The system achieves approximately sixteen percent SLA delay reduction and fifteen percent operational cost reduction compared to non-migration approaches without additional energy overhead, while preventing migration to fault-prone hosts.
