MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611086398 A) filed by Chandigarh University on July 15, 2026, for Multi-Cloud Storage Optimization System With Approximate Similarity Detection And Automated Cleanup.
Inventors include Abdullah; Rakesh Kumar; and Meenu Gupta.
The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a multi-cloud storage optimization system configured to intelligently manage and optimize data across cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, GCP, Google Drive, and Dropbox. The system integrates with multiple cloud services to scan file metadata and contents, detect exact duplicates and approximate duplicate files having similarity levels between 70% and 90%, and identify redundant data using machine learning techniques. A usage prediction module analyses file access patterns to prioritize optimization actions. Flagged files are presented with similarity scores and user-selectable options including merging, archiving, deleting, or ignoring files. An automation engine enables rule-based clean-up operations with minimal user intervention while preserving file ownership and data security. A monitoring and feedback mechanism continuously updates optimization models based on user interactions and clean-up results. The invention reduces storage costs, improves storage efficiency, and enhances data hygiene in individual and enterprise multi-cloud environments.
