MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531023936 A) filed by Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited on March 18, 2025, for Multi-Can Puncturing Apparatus For Safe Disposal Of Aerosol Cans.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus (100) for puncturing and draining hazardous fluids from aerosol cans which having a base plate (1) for structural support and a receiving chamber (3) is mounted on the base plate (1) to receive hazardous fluids, wherein the receiving chamber (3) has a drainage tray (2) with a handle for liquid disposal. Further, plurality of sharp-ended stainless steel round pins (4) with slotted portions are welded on the receiving chamber (3), wherein the slotted portion directs hazardous fluids in to the chamber (3). A holding plate (6) is implemented for positioning aerosol cans in a vertical orientation and a top plate (7) with cups (8) securely holds the aerosol cans from top in which a lever mechanism (14) connected via a bearing setup (12) and a connecting rod assembly (9, 10, 11, 13) for applying uniform force on the top plate (7). {FIGURE 2}
