Abstract: A muffler (1) includes a shell (2), a separator (3), and at least one pipe (4, 4A, 4B, 4D, 4E, 5, 5A, 5B, 5D, 5E). The at least one pipe is tubular and extends into an internal space (S0) of the shell. A front-end portion (43, 43A, 43D, 43E, 53, 53A, 53D, 53E) of the at least one pipe is supported by the separator. The front-end portion includes at least one plate-shaped part (431a, 431b, 431c, 431d, 431e, 431f, 431g, 531a, 531b, 531c, 531d, 531e, 531f, 531g) and at least one extending part (432a, 432b, 432c, 432d, 432e, 432f, 432g, 532a, 532b, 532c, 532d, 532e, 532f, 532g). The at least one extending part is adjacent to the at least one plate-shaped part in a circumferential direction of the front-end portion and extends beyond the at least one plate-shaped part in an axial direction of the front-end portion. Of the at least one plate-shaped part and the at least one extending part, only the at least one extending part is insertee through an insertion hole (311) of the separator. The at least one pipe includes a first-side pipe (5, 5A, 5B, 5D, 5E). The first-side pipe extends from a first opening (231) of the shell into the internal space. The at least one extending part of the first-side pipe is slidably supported by the separator.
