Abstract: The increasing use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) in applications such as surveillance, agriculture, delivery systems, and disaster management has created a strong need for reliable and safe motor operation. Since drone motors operate under varying load conditions, faults such as overheating, overcurrent, and abnormal speed variations can lead to performance degradation or complete system failure. This project presents a Motor Health Monitoring and Failure Prevention System for drone motors that continuously monitors critical motor parameters and ensures safe operation through real-time fault detection and protection mechanisms. The proposed system uses sensors to monitor temperature, current, and motor speed in real time. These parameters are compared with predefined threshold values using comparator logic. An OR-based logical decision mechanism is implemented so that if any one parameter exceeds its safe operating limit, the system immediately detects a fault condition. Upon fault detection, corrective actions such as reducing motor speed using Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) through the Electronic Speed Controller (ESC) or shutting down the motor are initiated to prevent further damage. The system also provides alerts using indicators and buzzers for user awareness.
