MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641106108 A) filed by Sri Eshwar College Of Engineering on September 03, 2026, for Motor-Driven Mechanical Cleaning Mechanism For Water Tank Internal Surfaces.

Inventors include Vishnu Sakravarthy N; and Kamalesh R.

The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a motor-driven mechanical cleaning mechanism for automated cleaning of internal surfaces of water storage tanks. The mechanism comprises a motor-driven transmission assembly including a gear/pulley arrangement, a vertical tube, a rack and cleaning assembly, support arms, support links, compression springs, and a mounting structure, which is configured to convert the rotary motion generated by the motor into controlled mechanical movement of the cleaning assembly along the internal surfaces of the water tank. The cleaning assembly comprises a rake/tine bar or cleaning elements configured to maintain contact with the tank surface and mechanically remove accumulated dirt, sediment, sludge, algae, and other deposits during the cleaning operation. The support arms and compression springs provide controlled positioning and contact of the cleaning elements with the tank walls, while the supporting structure maintains alignment and stability of the mechanical components during operation. The motor-driven transmission enables controlled and repeatable movement of the cleaning assembly, thereby reducing manual scrubbing effort and the need for direct human entry into the tank. The mechanism further provides a compact, mechanically operated, and adaptable cleaning arrangement capable of covering the required internal tank surfaces through controlled movement of the cleaning elements, thereby improving cleaning consistency, reducing human intervention, minimizing cleaning time and physical effort, and enhancing the safety and effectiveness of water tank maintenance.
