Abstract: A mosquito repellent incense stick (400) includes an elongate combustible core stick (402) extending along a length of the incense stick (400), a coating layer (404) surrounding the core stick (402) over a coated length, the coating layer (404) including a combustible composition containing plant resin of Commiphora wightii, Boswellia serrata, or a mixture thereof, activated charcoal, Cassia tora seed powder, and sawdust, a holding portion (406) at a first end of the core stick (402) projecting beyond the coating layer (404) without any coating layer (404) thereon, and an ignition end (408) at a second end of the coating layer (404) remote from the holding portion (406). A method of preparing the mosquito repellent incense stick (400) includes providing plant resin, shade-drying and grinding the resin to a powder, combining the powder with activated charcoal, Cassia tora seed powder, and sawdust, adding distilled water and methanol to form a dough, stirring the dough, applying the dough onto a core stick (402), and drying the coated core stick (402).
