The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a Morris Water Maze apparatus designed for spatial learning and memory studies. The apparatus includes a water tank configured to hold water at a controlled temperature, regulated by an inbuilt thermostat to maintain a consistent range. An escape platform serves as a target for the animal, while a motion detection sensor tracks the animal's movement onto the platform. An automatic timing system is triggered by the sensor to record the time taken by the animal to reach the platform, with a stopwatch integrated to ensure precise, real-time data collection without manual intervention. The system operates autonomously, eliminating the need for human involvement during the experiment, and provides accurate, reliable measurements of escape latency. This combination of features ensures improved consistency, precision, and reliability in behavioral testing, making the apparatus an efficient tool for spatial learning and memory research. FIG. 1
