Abstract: The titled invention discloses an intelligent monitoring and fault prediction system for tunnel booster fans using machine learning to provide continuous condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, and automatic emergency response for underground metro tunnel ventilation systems. The system includes a sensor unit (1) for monitoring current, voltage, vibration, temperature, and gas concentration of the tunnel booster fan. A signal conditioning unit (2) conditions the acquired sensor signals before supplying them to a processing unit (3) comprising an STM32 microcontroller. The processed data is transmitted through a communication module (4) using LoRa wireless communication to a receiver gateway (5), which forwards the data to a dashboard and machine learning engine (6). The dashboard stores and visualizes the operational data, while the XGBoost machine learning algorithm analyses the sensor data to predict normal operation, overheating fault, electrical overload fault, and mechanical vibration fault. During hazardous gas detection, the processing unit automatically activates the exhaust fan and generates emergency alerts, thereby improving operational safety, maintenance efficiency, and reliability while providing a cost-effective alternative to conventional SCADA-based monitoring systems.
