MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202617098685 A) filed by Greenitio Pte. Ltd on August 14, 2026, for Molecule Functionalisation.
Inventors include Roy, Susmita; and Khan, Amit Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: There is provided a method of producing a functionalised molecule. The method comprises: providing a first aqueous precursor composition comprising a molecule in aqueous solution or suspension, wherein the molecule has a reactive group; providing a second precursor composition comprising a surface modifying agent in solution or suspension, wherein the surface modifying agent has a linker group and a functionalising group; forming a reaction mixture comprising the first aqueous precursor composition, the second precursor composition, and a mixed metal catalyst that comprises a first transition metal and a second metal which is a transition metal or Group 13 or 14 metal; and allowing the linker group of the surface modifying agent to react with the reactive group of the molecule in the presence of the catalyst, to thereby provide a functionalised molecule. The reactive group of the molecule comprises a carboxylic acid or salt thereof or derivative thereof and the linker group of the surface modifying agent is an amine or salt thereof. The reactive group of the molecule comprises an amine or salt thereof and the linker group of the surface modifying agent is a carboxylic acid or salt thereof or derivative thereof; such that the functionalising group is attached to the surface of the molecule via the formation of an amide bond.
