MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611115629 A) filed by Gla University, Mathura on September 26, 2026, for Moisture-Activated Flexible Cementitious Composite Mat With Controlled Rigidification And Non- Shedding Dry-State Architecture.
Inventors include Dr. Mayank Nigam; and Dr. Manvendra Verma.
The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a moisture-activated flexible cementitious composite mat (7) comprising a flexible supporting architecture (1) retaining a dry or semi- dry reactive cementitious/mineral matrix (2). The composite mat (7) remains flexible and conformable in a dry state and is configured for transportation, rolling, cutting, folding, bending and installation over substrates (23) having curved, sloped, uneven or irregular geometries. Controlled moisture ingress (16) through a permeable or perforated upper face (4) initiates hydration or a moisture-triggered reaction (18), resulting in progressive stiffening and formation of a hardened composite body (20). The supporting architecture (1) reduces material shedding during dry-state handling. The mat (7) may incorporate reaction-inhibited constituents (3), moisture-control arrangements, internal reinforcement (30), and different thickness configurations for erosion control, lining, surface protection, repair and rehabilitation applications.
