MUMBAI, India, July 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621035313 A) filed by Vivek Panchal; Dr. Shweta Kedia; and Sudhanshu Mungole on March 24, 2026, for Modular Wearable System For Fall Detection And Impact Mitigation.

Inventors include Vivek Panchal; Dr. Shweta Kedia; and Sudhanshu Mungole.

The application for the patent was published on July 10, 2026, under issue no. 28/2026.

Abstract: A modular wearable impact mitigation system for detecting fall events and reducing impact forces is disclosed. The system comprises at least one inflatable module (100) including a flexible airtight chamber (110) fluidly connected to a pneumatic actuation unit having a micro-pump (120) and a controllable deflation valve (130). A primary circuit (150) supports a control unit and a sensor unit including an inertial measurement unit and a barometric pressure sensor configured to generate orientation and altitude signals. During normal operation, the control unit maintains the chamber (110) at a predefined standing pressure range. Upon detection of a fall event determined from processing of the generated signals, including threshold-based evaluation and optional execution of a trained machine learning model configured to generate a fall probability score, the control unit actuates the micro-pump (120) and the controllable deflation valve (130) to provide active pneumatic damping for dissipation of impact energy.
