MUMBAI, India, Sept. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621086760 A) filed by Stride Dynamics Private Limited on July 15, 2026, for Modular Visual Positioning System And Method For Uav Navigation In Gnss-Denied Environments.
Inventors include Gajendra Nagar; and Pence Mataria.
The application for the patent was published on September 04, 2026, under issue no. 36/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT “MODULAR VISUAL POSITIONING SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR UAV NAVIGATION IN GNSS-DENIED ENVIRONMENTS” A modular Visual Positioning System (VPS) for Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) navigation in Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS)-denied environments is disclosed. The VPS addresses the critical vulnerability of UAVs that rely solely on GNSS by providing accurate, geo-referenced positioning entirely independent of external signals. It integrates transparently with existing flight controllers as a drop-in replacement for a physical GNSS receiver via a standard MAVLink interface, without requiring any modification to the host autopilot firmware. The system employs a dual-layer estimation engine combining Visual-Inertial Odometry (VIO) with an AI- based satellite map matching corrective overlay, tested on speeds more than 30m/s and AGL of more than 500m, validated under military-grade Electronic Warfare (EW) jamming conditions.
