MUMBAI, India, July 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411063205 A) filed by Larsen & Toubro Limited on August 21, 2024, for Modular Railway Guideway Structure.
Inventors include Akshay Wahal; Nikhil Jhose; Rahul Chauhan; Sangeet Shukla; and Rajan Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on July 24, 2026, under issue no. 30/2026.
Abstract: A modular railway guideway structure installed on a conventional substructure (7) comprises of a plurality of horizontal elements (1) spaced away from the said substructure (7) with a separation layer (9) therein between, and a plurality of steel elements (2) positioned on top of the said horizontal elements (1). The said plurality of steel elements (2) adapted with plurality of connection points (5) for fastening onto said plurality of horizontal elements (1) and said plurality of horizontal elements (1) adapted with plurality of openings (6) for connecting in-situ and interlocking with said substructure (7), and also said plurality of vertical elements (3) adapted with a plurality of drainage channels (8) to drain the water entering on the horizontal element (1). The said arrangement characterised in arranging the modular guideway spaced away from the substructure (7), with the said horizontal elements (1) spaced away from said substructure (7) providing the modular arrangement of the guideway from the substructure.
