MUMBAI, India, Aug. 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541007487 A) filed by Jain Deemed-To-Be University on January 29, 2025, for Modular Optical Device For Precise Drawing.

Inventor includes Kaushik V Prasad.

The application for the patent was published on July 31, 2026, under issue no. 31/2026.

Abstract: A modular optical device for precise drawing, comprises of an elongated body 101 attached with a clamp 102 for attaching the body 101 with edges of a fixed surface, an ultrasonic sensor for determining dimensions of the edges, multiple motorized hinge joints 104 to tilt multiple plates 103 for holding the edges in view of securing the clamp 102 with the surface, an imaging unit 105 to determine distance of a writable surface from the body 101, a holographic projection unit 106 for projecting a 3- dimensional model of the selected image in proximity to the surface, a telescopically operated rod 108 that is actuated by the microcontroller to extend/retract for positioning a triangular frame 107 at an optimal height over the writable surface, and a mirror 110 for reflecting the projected image onto the user’s line of sight for viewing the image on the writable surface.
