MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641105353 A) filed by Hari Prasath K R on September 01, 2026, for Modular Irrigation Control System With Self-Identifying Driver Modules And Power-Adaptive Actuation.

Inventor includes Hari Prasath K R.

The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.

Abstract: A modular control system (100) for automated farm irrigation includes a field controller (102), a shared bus (104) connected to the field controller (102), at least one Power module (106) configured to supply battery-derived or AC-derived electrical power to the field controller (102), at least one Communication module (108) configured to provide a wireless data link or a wired data link between the field controller (102) and an external network (116), and at least one Driver module (110) connected to the shared bus (104) and configured to actuate an irrigation valve or to read a sensed parameter. Where the Communication module (108) is a wireless communication module, the field controller (102) communicates with the external network (116) via the Communication module (108), an optional repeater (114), and a gateway (112). Where the Communication module (108) is a wired communication module, the field controller (102) communicates directly with the external network (116) through the Communication module (108), without a gateway (112) or a repeater (114). The field controller (102) and the Driver module (110) perform an automatic type-identification handshake (200), in which the field controller (102) transmits a type-query message over the shared bus (104) and the Driver module (110) responds with a type-identification message indicating a functional category of the Driver module (110), without manual configuration. The Driver module (110) autonomously senses a characteristic of its own incoming supply rail to determine whether the Driver module (110) is supplied by battery-derived or AC-derived power, and automatically selects, on identical hardware and firmware, between a first actuation strategy including a continuous, latched output and a second actuation strategy including a time-bounded pulsed output, based on the sensed characteristic.
