MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641078614 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Chennai on June 25, 2026, for Modular Hardware System With Universal Intelligent Mount And Passive Cartridge-Based Reconfiguration.
Inventors include Ravi Prakash Dwivedi; Sai Mithil K; Ritam Pandey; and Shivam Yadav.
The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.
Abstract: A modular hardware system (300) includes a universal intelligent mount (102) and at least one passive cartridge (108) removably attachable to an attachment interface (106) of the universal intelligent mount (102). The universal intelligent mount (102) includes a processing unit (104). The passive cartridge (108) includes application-specific functional elements (110), a passive identification interface, and a passive validation structure. Upon attachment of the passive cartridge (108), the processing unit (104) identifies a cartridge type based on a static electrical pattern received from the passive identification interface via the attachment interface (106), applies a predefined electrical stimulus to the passive validation structure, measures a resulting electrical response, and compares the resulting electrical response with a reference range to determine validity of the passive cartridge (108). Based on cartridge identification and validation, the processing unit (104) selectively enables internal software routines, signal paths, processing functions, and power delivery.
