Each customized fixation sleeve of the plurality of customized fixation sleeves (110, 114, 118) is configured to fit a specific designated location in a tapered intramedullary canal. Further, the modular femoral stem assembly (100) includes an end fixation sleeve (122) configured to be positioned at a distal end of the internal rod (202) and to compress the plurality of customized fixation sleeves (110, 114, 118) when assembled, The modular femoral stem assembly (100) is configurable to patient-specific anatomy and is configured to be inserted as a single unit into the tapered intramedullary canal to achieve both fit and fill of the tapered intramedullary canal.
