MUMBAI, India, Sept. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611083890 A) filed by Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University on July 08, 2026, for Modular Evacuated Blood Specimen Collection System.

Inventors include Anjali Verma; Dr. Alka Katiyar; Dr. Munish Rastogi; Mr. Dheeraj Kumar; Yashvi Gupta; Tushar Sharma; and Nandini Tiwari.

The application for the patent was published on September 04, 2026, under issue no. 36/2026.

Abstract: Disclosed is a modular evacuated blood specimen collection system comprising a reusable pressure-resistant shell defining an internal receiving cavity, a disposable bio-barrier liner removably nested in the internal receiving cavity and spaced from the shell to define an interstitial space, and a needle-pierceable dual-seal stopper removably fitted at an open end of the shell. The liner defines a blood-receiving chamber. The stopper seals the blood-receiving chamber and the interstitial space and comprises an interstitial vacuum bypass channel communicating with the interstitial space. The blood-receiving chamber and the interstitial space are evacuated through the stopper such that the liner is supported against vacuum-induced collapse within the shell and the shell receives centrifugation load transmitted from the liner. After specimen collection, the liner and stopper are removable as a disposable bio-contact unit while the shell is retained for reuse.
