Abstract: ABSTRACT MODULAR COASTAL BARRIER PERFORMANCE EVALUATION SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLED WAVE CONDITIONS The present invention relates to a modular coastal barrier performance evaluation system (1000) and a method (300) for testing and comparing hydraulic performance of coastal barriers under controlled wave conditions. The system (1000) comprises a transparent wave flume (209) for containing water and enabling visual wave observation, a pump-in/pump-out hydraulic unit (206) for controlling water depth, a motor (200), drive shaft/rotary actuator coupling (201), and top-hinged wave- generator flap (202) for generating controlled waves, and a modular barrier mounting arrangement (500) for positioning removable coastal barriers (204). An overtopping measurement arrangement (600) collects and measures water passing over the barrier through an overtopping collection chamber (211) and calibrated outlet nozzle (210). A high-speed camera (207) captures wave profiles, while a processing unit (700) determines incident, reflected and transmitted wave characteristics, overtopping discharge (q), and a barrier efficiency index (BEI), enabling repeatable comparative evaluation of coastal barriers.
