Abstract: The present invention relates to a modified floatable microbial fuel cell (MFC) system integrated with a peripheral rectangular hollow buoyant structure that enables stable, long-duration floatation on wastewater surfaces while simultaneously generating electricity and treating wastewater. The system comprises a vertically oriented design with an open lower anode chamber immersed directly in the wastewater substrate and a sealed upper cathode chamber separated by a Novel Cement Supported Conductive Salts Proton Exchange Membrane (NCSCS-PEM) that allows selective proton transfer. Dual graphite electrodes are employed to enhance biofilm formation and electron transfer efficiency. Indigenous exoelectrogenic microorganisms metabolize organic matter in wastewater to produce electrons and protons that are harvested for electrical output. Multiple units may be connected in series or parallel to achieve scalable voltage and current suitable for practical applications such as powering LED lighting and battery charging, promoting a circular and sustainable wastewater-to-energy solution.
