Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention relates to a modified auxiliary hook assembly designed for improved biomechanical control during orthodontic molar protraction. Conventional molar buccal tube hooks are often short and positioned away from the center of resistance (CRes) of the molar, thereby increasing the tendency for uncontrolled tipping during force application. The invention involves modifying a crimpable orthodontic hook by opening and adapting it onto a molar buccal tube followed by spot welding to create an extended force application arm. This modification allows orthodontic forces to be delivered closer to the molar's center of resistance, thereby promoting bodily tooth movement rather than uncontrolled tipping during molar protraction. The appliance is intended for chairside fabrication, is minimally invasive, cost-effective, and compatible with existing orthodontic systems. The modified assembly may improve biomechanical efficiency, force control, and treatment predictability during space closure and molar mesialization procedures.
