Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention relates to a modified cord packer used in dental clinical and laboratory procedures. Conventional cord packers possess uniform tip geometry, which limits adaptability to varied gingival anatomy and often necessitates excessive force, increasing the risk of tissue trauma and procedural inefficiency. Furthermore, existing instruments lack multifunctionality, requiring frequent instrument changes during dental procedures[5]. The modified cord packer disclosed herein overcomes these limitations by incorporating a dual-ended design with one rounded end and one oval end. The rounded end allows atraumatic insertion into narrow sulcular spaces, while the oval end provides increased surface contact for controlled lateral displacement and stabilization of retraction cords. The instrument includes an ergonomically designed handle and an angled shank to enhance accessibility and operator comfort. This innovative design improves precision, reduces gingival trauma, enhances efficiency, and offers versatility for both clinical and laboratory dental applications. The instrument is manufactured from medical-grade materials suitable for repeated sterilization and long-term use.
