Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention relates to an automated toll collection system based on Artificial Intelligence and Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR). The system captures vehicle images and applies image processing techniques to detect number plates. Optical Character Recognition (OCR) is used to extract alphanumeric characters from the detected plate. The extracted vehicle number is verified with a database containing user and vehicle details. Based on the available account balance, the system automatically deducts the toll amount and records the transaction. The system operates through a web-based interface, enabling real-time processing and user interaction. It eliminates the need for manual toll collection and RFID-based systems, thereby reducing traffic congestion and operational costs. The invention provides a reliable, scalable, and cost-effective solution for modern toll management with improved efficiency and accuracy.
