Abstract: Embodiments of the present application provide a mobility management method and apparatus. The method comprises: a terminal device receives configuration information sent by a first network device and used for configuring a layer 1/layer 2 triggered mobility (LTM) candidate cell; the terminal device determines that an LTM connection failure occurs; and the terminal device records connection failure information, the connection failure information comprising at least one of the following: information for indicating a duration from the last time the terminal device receives the configuration information to the occurrence of the connection failure; and information for determining that the mobility type related to the connection failure is LTM. According to the embodiments of the present application, an SON enhancement scheme under LTM scenarios is introduced, so that a terminal device can report LTM-related connection failure information, and thus a network device can perform corresponding parameter adjustment according to the connection failure information, thereby improving LTM robustness.
