Abstract: A mobility assistive device comprises of a base platform 101 configured to support a patient’s feet, a vertical telescopic rod 102 configured with a first handlebar 103 gripped by the patient to assist the seated patient to stand and a second handlebar 104 gripped by a caretaker to manoeuvre the patient from one place to another, an imaging unit 105 to determine the patient’s height, a plurality of pressure sensor 106 to detect pressure applied by the patient over the first handlebar 103, a hydraulic unit 107 for applying pressure over the rod 102 to assist the patient in lifting from seated position to standing position, an electromagnetic spring 108 to generate a counteracting force that dampens the vibrations, plurality of caster wheels 109 are positioned underneath the platform 101 to maneuver the platform 101 from one place to another, a gyroscopic sensor to detect falling condition of the patient.
