MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511023242 A) filed by Sanskriti University on March 15, 2025, for Mobility Assistive Device For Impaired Persons.

Abstract: A mobility assistive device for impaired persons, comprises of an elongated body 101 having a first end configured with a waist belt 102 , developed to be tied around a user’s waist having mobility issues, the belt 102 is flexible and attached with a buckle 103 and latch 104 for securing around the user’s waist comfortably, a second end of the body 101 is attached with a C-shaped clamp 106, integrated with a drawer arrangement to be secured around the user’s knee portion thus preventing excessive movement and instability, an imaging unit 107 is installed on the body 101 to detect the user’s posture during walking, a vibrating unit integrated within the body 101 to produce vibrational sensations for alerting the user to correct the deviated posture, and an EMG sensor coupled with a IMU for determining movement patterns to analyze muscle activity and rehabilitation progress of the use.
