MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641075973 A) filed by Kalasalingam Academy Of Research And Education on June 19, 2026, for Mobile Ladder With Self-User Navigation Facility.

Abstract: The titled invention discloses a mobile ladder comprising a ladder base (1), a vertical frame (2), a plurality of ladder steps (3), a seating base (4) fixed atop the vertical frame (2) for seating a user, front navigating wheels (5), a rear idler wheel (6), a foot pedal (7) positioned near the seating base (4), a crank shaft (8) connecting the foot pedal (7) to the front navigating wheels (5), and a hand lever (9) positioned near the seating 10 base (4) connected to the rear idler lll(heel (6). The foot pedal (7) and crank shaft (8) propel the front navigating wheels (5) forward or reverse, and the hand lever (9) angularly pivots the rear idler wheel (6) for steering, thereby enabling the seated user to move and steer the entire ladder without descending from the seating base (4). The ladder eliminates the repetitive need to climb down, manually reposition the ladder, 15 and climb back up during overhead work, saving time, reducing physical effort, and improving work efficiency. The entire navigation system is manually powered by the seated user without requiring any external power source.
