Abstract: Mobile Evaporative Cooling Cart for Perishable Goods Transport in Off-Grid Areas This invention describes a mobile evaporative cooling cart designed for off-grid transport and storage of perishable goods, incorporating a double-walled porous structure, passive airflow regulation, and a manual mechanical ventilation system. The outer porous layer, in combination with a capillary wicking system, enables continuous evaporative cooling, reducing internal temperatures by 10–15°C below ambient conditions. A strategically positioned passive airflow system enhances heat dissipation, while adjustable ventilation flaps optimize air exchange. For stationary operation, a hand-crank or pedal-powered fan accelerates evaporation, ensuring enhanced cooling efficiency. The cart is lightweight, mobile, and scalable, accommodating 5–50 kg of perishable goods, making it ideal for small-scale farmers, vendors, and decentralized food distribution networks. Constructed from biodegradable, food-safe materials, it provides a sustainable, electricity-free alternative to conventional refrigeration, mitigating food spoilage and post-harvest losses in rural and economically constrained environments.
