MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641113889 A) filed by Anurag University on September 23, 2026, for Ml-Based Road Safety Blackspot Prediction And Real-Time Alert System.
Inventors include G Sailu; M. Alekhya; K. Kalyan; and M. Kaveri.
The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention provides a machine-learning-based road safety blackspot prediction and real-time alert system (100) in which a data acquisition module (101) receives accident, vehicle classification, PCU/hour traffic exposure, crash causation, temporal and environmental data. A preprocessing module (102) cleans the data and normalizes accident information according to traffic exposure, while a feature engineering module (103) derives crash frequency, severity, temporal, vehicle-type and causation features. A machine-learning prediction engine (104) applies Decision Tree and Random Forest models to predict crash frequency and classify severity. A risk scoring module (105) combines frequency, severity and exposure to rank blackspots. A mapping module (106) converts ranked locations into geographical risk coordinates. A mobile application (107) determines vehicle position using GPS, and a geofencing and alert module (108) detects approach to a ranked blackspot, adjusts risk using weather and vehicle speed, and generates corresponding voice and visual alerts.
