MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202631087646 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Engineering Science And on July 17, 2026, for Mixed-Signal System And Method For Locating And Estimating Static Eccentricity In A Radial Flux Srm.

Inventors include Mainak Sengupta; Sabarni Pal; and Devraj Roy.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: A mixed-signal system (500) and method for in-process locating and estimating a degree of static eccentricity in a radial flux switched reluctance motor is disclosed. The system (500) includes an input power conditioning and DC-link generation module (502) configured to generate an operating DC voltage, a power converter (504) configured to selectively energize a plurality of phases of the motor, and a sensing module (506) configured to generate rotor position signals, DC-bus voltage signals, and phase current signals. Signal conditioning and interface circuitry (508) conditions the sensed signals to generate conditioned sensing signals and provides converter- compatible drive signals. A digital controller (510) uses the conditioned sensing signals to estimate phase inductance values, compares the estimated phase inductance values with predefined reference data corresponding to healthy operating conditions, and estimates the degree of static eccentricity based on eccentricity-induced inductance variation caused by non-uniform air-gap distribution.
