Abstract: A mitral valve repair device (100) for correcting mitral regurgitation by ensuring coaptation of mitral valve leaflets is disclosed. The device (100) comprises two main arms (2) pivotally connected by a lower pin joint provided with a lower cubical nut (4), the main arms (2) being movable between an open configuration and a closed configuration. Two end arms (5) are pivotally connected to respective main arms (2) by pin joints (7) and are further pivotally connected at an upper pin joint provided with either an upper cubical nut (4B) or a helical spring (6), forming a collapsible truss assembly. Two grasper elements (3) with spikes (3A) are mounted below the lower pin joint. A cylindrical rod (1) passing through the lower cubical nut (4) and the upper cubical nut (4B) or engaging the helical spring (6) enables controlled opening, closing and locking of the truss assembly.
