MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621046598 A) filed by Thakur College Of Engineering & Technology on April 11, 2026, for Mira: Memory-Centric Reconfigurable Architecture For Real-Time Battery State-Of-Charge Estimation.

Inventors include Dr. Vinitkumar Jayaprakash Dongre; Sagar Vijay Mhatre; and Dr. Sudhakar Mande.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a memory-centric intelligent reconfigurable architecture (MIRA) for real-time state-of-charge (SoC) estimation of lithium-ion batteries in electric vehicles. The system integrates a hardware-software co-design framework using a quantization-aware LSTM model optimized for FPGA implementation. The architecture employs near-memory computation, fixed-point arithmetic, activation function approximation, and parallel matrix multiplication to reduce latency and energy consumption. Implemented on a low-cost FPGA platform, the proposed system achieves high throughput and low power consumption, making it suitable for embedded battery management systems. The invention provides an efficient and scalable solution for deploying deep learning models in resource-constrained edge environments.
