MUMBAI, India, July 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541068493 A) filed by Neeraj Sarda on July 17, 2025, for Mineral Fiber And Process For Preparation Thereof.

Inventor includes Neeraj Sarda.

The application for the patent was published on July 24, 2026, under issue no. 30/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for preparation of mineral fibers from hot silico-manganese slag. The process comprises collecting hot silico-manganese slag from an alloy plant and charging the slag into an electric arc furnace (101) without addition of acidity-correcting or viscosity-correcting additives. The slag is heated to a temperature of 1700°C to 1900°C and a target fiberizing viscosity, and the resulting melt is discharged through a first tap hole (101H1) onto a spinner (102) to form fibers. The fibers are cooled, treated with a binder and a dusting oil, collected in a collection drum (103), layered through a pendulum conveyor (105), compressed in a crimping machine (106) and cured in a curing oven (107). The process produces mineral fibers having reduced shot content, improved insulation properties and reduced dependence on virgin raw materials and fossil fuels. Reference
