MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621073669 A) filed by Ankur Jain; and Anindita Tiwari on June 13, 2026, for Millivolt-Bounded Voltage Envelope Control System And Method For Safe Battery Reconfiguration With Reduced Equalization Currents.
Inventor includes Ankur Jain.
The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT MILLIVOLT-BOUNDED VOLTAGE ENVELOPE CONTROL SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SAFE BATTERY RECONFIGURATION WITH REDUCED EQUALIZATION CURRENTS A battery reconfiguration safety system (100), battery pack (150), and method (200) for reducing reconfiguration-induced equalization currents are disclosed. The system (100) comprises a plurality of electrochemical cells (102), a voltage monitoring circuit (104) configured to determine individual cell voltages, a voltage-envelope controller (106) configured to maintain voltage differences among the cells within a predefined differential threshold, and a reconfiguration controller (108) configured to permit electrical reconfiguration only when the voltage differences satisfy the predefined differential threshold. An equalization circuit (110) may selectively supply electrical energy from an auxiliary energy source to lower-voltage cells to reduce voltage divergence. The method (200) includes monitoring (202) cell voltages, determining (204) inter-cell voltage differentials, maintaining (206) the differentials within the predefined threshold, and performing (208) electrical reconfiguration thereafter, thereby reducing transient equalization currents and improving battery safety, reliability, and service life. FIG. 1 will be the reference figure.
