The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: The invention relates to powder metallurgy and copper-based hybrid metal matrix composites. Disclosed is a copper-based hybrid metal matrix composite having a continuous copper matrix and a reinforcement package comprising alumina, molybdenum disulfide, and chromium dispersed therein, the composite being obtained as a microwave-sintered pellet from a compacted green pellet formed from a powder mixture of copper, alumina, molybdenum disulfide, and chromium in selected weight percentages. The invention further provides a method including powder mixing, compaction into the green pellet, and microwave sintering to produce MWS-CC, MWS-MMC1, MWS-MMC2, or MWS-MMC3. Compared with existing copper composites, the invention provides improved relative density after sintering and uniform reinforcement distribution with superior interfacing, while retaining useful electrical conductivity. Principal use includes manufacture of conductive and wear- resistant engineering components.
