The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a microporous polymeric transdermal patch incorporated with Eupatorium perfbliatum-loaded chitosan nanoparticles for sustained antipyretic activity. The herbal extract is encapsulated within chitosan nanoparticles synthesized by ionic gelation using sodium tripolyphosphate as crosslinking agent. The prepared nanoparticles are incorporated into a biodegradable polymeric matrix comprising polyvinyl alcohol and hydroxypropyl methylcellulose to fabricate a flexible microporous transdermal patch. The developed formulation exhibits enhanced skin permeation, controlled release behavior, improved bioavailability, and prolonged therapeutic efficacy. Characterization studies confirm nanoscale particle size, structural stability, and porous morphology of the patch system. The invention provides effective fever reduction with minimized gastrointestinal side effects associated with conventional oral antipyretic drugs. The developed transdermal herbal nanoplatform offers a safe, biodegradable, patient-compliant, and non-invasive therapeutic approach for fever management and sustained antipyretic delivery.
