MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202617078177 A) filed by Owens Corning Intellectual Capital, LLC on June 24, 2026, for Microfiber Filled Non-Woven Facer.

The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.
Abstract: A method of forming rotary fibers (e.g., glass fibers) that have a more uniform or constrained fiber diameter and/or length distribution is disclosed. The rotary fibers, which have the improved property distribution(s) across a volume of the fibers, promote the formation of improved non-woven fibrous mats and products formed from the mats (e.g., a coated glass facer). The coated glass facer is suitable for use as facing material, such as a facer for a gypsum or polyiso board. Because the non-woven mat is formed from a blend of smaller and larger fibers and because the coating applied to the mat includes filler components with smaller and larger particle sizes, the faced wall board can have improved air permeability performance, which allows for better prevention of bleed through, mottling, and other visual defects.
