MUMBAI, India, June 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621053731 A) filed by Dr. D. Y. Patil Institute Of Technology, Pimpri, Pune - on April 28, 2026, for Microbiome Mining System With Machine Learning For Dairy Safety And Gut Health Enhancement.

Inventors include Ms. Arti Vilas Sonawane; Ms. Srushti Bhujbal; and Mrs. Bhakti Sanket Puranik.

The application for the patent was published on June 19, 2026, under issue no. 25/2026.

Abstract: I am developing a microbiome-mining system which is driven by transparent machine learning to disrupt dairy safety and how we forecast gut health on individual basis. The platform identifies microbial profiles in dairy of high accuracy in real-time, namely deep sequencing, AI-motivated microbial imaging, and quick color- change sensors, which do not harm samples nor damage them, across the whole food supply chain, farm to fork. The AI is able to inform producers immediately whether or not foods will spoil or which probiotics are good, as it can tell instantly. It is cool that it can connect product-side microbiome data to the gut microbiome of the consumer, and do real-time AI-powered personalized nutrition calls and safety heads-up. Secure IoT and blockchain ensure that data can be traced, and thus transparency, regulation, and confidence are a given. The system is operated end-to-end: it continues learning based on consumer health data, learns new risk patterns, and optimizes diets based on certain groups. The reward will be increased microbial quality checks, quicker payoff, better shelf life, and auto-procurement of compliance documentation. The invention closes gaps in old testing through proactive, tailored, intervention, packed data-compliance and smarter functional dairy production to benefit the health of the population.
