Abstract: Disclosed herein is a microbial formulation for controlling odour emissions and stimulating livestock (pig) growth in Bokashi farming. The said formulation is produced through a method comprising steps of: preparing (S1) a fermentation substrate (100) comprising cooked rice (102), potato peels (104), and banana peels (106) in a weight ratio of 2.5:1:1 in an earthen pot (EP); incubating (S2) the substrate (100) at a temperature of 28–32°C for 3-4 days to obtain a fermented substrate (200); enclosing (S3) the fermented substrate (200) in a muslin cloth pouch (MP); immersing (S4) the fermented substrate filled pouch (200) in an aqueous jaggery solution (300) with a concentration of 12.5 % weight/volume at a temperature of 28–32°C for 7-10 days in a container (C) to enrich fermentation in the solution; and recovering (S5) the enriched solution as the microbial formulation (400) in which Komagataeibacter saccharivorans represents 80-85% relative abundance of total microbial population as determined by 16S rRNA sequencing.
