Abstract: TITLE: MICRO-SURGICAL APPLICATOR WITH INDEXED CARTRIDGE FOR CONTROLLED SEQUENTIAL DELIVERY OF ABSORBABLE PLEDGETS APPLICANT: 1. MEENAKSHI ACADEMY OF HIGHER EDUCATION AND RESEARCH 2. MEENAKSHI MEDICAL COLLEGE HOSPITAL AND RESEARCH INSTITUTE ABSTRACT The present invention discloses a micro surgical pledget applicator configured for precise, atraumatic, and sequential delivery of absorbable pledgets during microsurgical procedures. The applicator comprises an elongated tubular micro shaft defining an internal longitudinal lumen, a micro magazine containing a plurality of absorbable pledgets arranged in individual compartments, and a proximal ergonomic handle assembly operatively connected to an indexed advancement mechanism for controlled stepwise advancement. A distal delivery tip terminating in a delivery port cooperates with a distal retention gate to release one absorbable pledget at a time while preventing premature deployment of subsequent pledgets. The applicator further comprises a removable preloaded cartridge, an adjustable depth control stopper for limiting insertion depth, and a viewing window for visual confirmation of pledget advancement. The cooperative arrangement of these components enables controlled one-at-a-time deployment of absorbable pledgets with improved placement accuracy, reduced operative time, minimized tissue trauma, enhanced procedural efficiency, and consistent performance within confined surgical environments.
