AHR agonists are believed to inhibiting the release of proinflammatory proteins (cytokines) and downregulating inflammation. 3,5-Dihydroxy-4-isopropyl-trans-stilbene, also known as (E)-2-isopropyl-5-styrylbenzene-1,3- diol or Tapinarof, is a naturally occurring compound found in bacterial symbionts of nematodes.
